Guests can enjoy a walk around the old center of Schiedam and admire the architecture and the old harbor with its many historic ships.

Delfshaven (from which the Pilgrim Fathers departed centuries ago) is only 10 minutes away by car and the city of Rotterdam can also be reached within a 10min water-taxi ride for a mere 5,50euro p.per. (located just 150m away from us right behind the lock).
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in our neighbourhood – from quick take-aways to more traditional ones: Noordmolen restaurant, Hamachi, Prego, Brasserie Stadhuis, Watertuin Schiedam, Pronto, Khan, Griekse Taverna, De Provenier..
Delft – is the city of the world-famous Delft Blue ceramics and pottery, the birthplace of the ‘Master of Light’ Johannes Vermeer, and has close ties with the Royal House of Orange. It is only 25min and 16km away.
Hoek van Holland ( North Sea and the beaches) is 30min and 25km away,
Den Haag / The Hague (the Dutch capital) is 30min and 23km away. The Dutch government and parliament are located here (in the Binnenhof); it is a seat of the Royal family, Peace Palace and many prominent museums: Mauritshuis Museum (i.e. Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring), Museum Escher in the Palace or Gemeentemuseum den Haag. Gouda (Mecca of Cheese and Stroopwafels) is 35 min and 28km away. Known for its production of pipes and candles and rich trading history with monumental buildings: gothic City Hall, Goudse Waag (weighing house) and the Sint-Janskerk with amazingly beautiful stained-glass windows. April – September: Gouda Cheese market is held at the main square every Thursday.
Leiden (Rembrandt birthplace) is only 45min and 38km away. The City of Discoveries is home to the oldest university of the Netherlands and is famous for its rich history and old city centre, with its canals, city gates, bridges, windmills, a castle, an observatory, the botanical gardens, weavers’ homes, almshouses, two large late gothic churches and several historical edifices.
Utrecht (with largest university in The Netherlands) is 60min and 70km away. A medieval city centre small enough to explore on foot, yet large enough to host world-class festivals, fashionable shops, modern architecture and fascinating museums.
Dordrecht (oldest town in NL) is 35min and 35km away. It is an ancient city surrounded by wide rivers, a city with thousand monuments, historic city ports and the Biesbosch National park – an ideal place for walking, cycling or sailing right in its backyard.
Amsterdam Central Station (80km away) is reached in 40min (16euro train ride) – by car it takes about 90min.
